HOPE volunteers from more than 80
Western hospitals and universities - including specialists from
prestigious pediatric teaching hospitals such as The Children's Hospital
of Boston, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, The
Children's Hospital and Medical Center of Seattle, and Children's National
Medical Center - have conducted training programs for Chinese health
professionals. HOPE programs have included specialized medical training in
pediatric care, such as high risk infancy and cardiovascular care for
newborns, as well as community-based health education for people in rural
areas. Project HOPE established China's first master's degree program in
nursing. And, more than four million Chinese children have benefited from
HOPE's Preventive Dentistry Program.

China Provides Free Cleft Lip & Palate
Surgery for Chinese Orphans

Working with the China Charity Federation (the
largest charitable
organization in China) and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, CBN China has
begun providing cleft lip & palate surgeries for orphans. Currently,
over 26,000 orphaned children in China have cleft lips and palates adding
to their already challenging conditions.
China
Charity Federation (CCF) is a non-governmental charity
organization formed as a national legal entity approved by the Chinese
government to help needy individuals and groups in distress and/or
poverty. CCF currently has 79 institutional members located across China,
which are all local charity institutions. In addition to helping those in
distress and aiding the poverty stricken, CCF has helped in other areas as
supporting elderly, assisting orphan programs, and finding grant aids for
students.
